In today’s changing data center landscape, cooling efficiencies and effectiveness are no longer a want, but rather a need. Implementing a containment solution will provide your organization with a more predictable environment while saving considerable operational costs. FIG specializes in the design and installation of both Cold Aisle and Hot Aisle Containment solutions.
Hot Aisle Containment (HAC) uses isolation to concentrate high return temperatures given off by the computing equipment. HAC can increase cooling efficiency by 30% or more by consistently returning higher temperatures directly back to the AC systems. The use of HAC prevents hot and cold air from mixing and allows the external IT room to be set at higher temperatures, in turn further reducing costs for AC.
Cold Aisle Containment (CAC) is comprised of secure doors at the ends of each aisle and an aisle roof that restrains the cold air into the front of the IT equipment. CAC ensures predictable and even air temperature at the IT intake, eliminating hot spots and promoting the best efficiencies in IT operation. It is often deployed in existing IT environments using perimeter cooling, and can contribute to operational savings.
